Essential Functions: Job PurposeOversees and manages special events parking and transportation services. Manages the transportation staff and oversees all day-to-day transportation operations, including all university owned/leased fleet vehicles, shuttle services, alternative transportation options and electric vehicle charging stations. This position reports to the Director, Parking and Transportation Services.Essential FunctionsPlan, oversee and manage the coordination of requests for special parking arrangements and transportation needs in collaboration with administration and event coordinators. Oversee the collection of revenues from all parking events including cash and/or credit card receipts, distribution of invoices and/or refunds, and maintenance of departmental records.Meet with customers to negotiate pricing and fees. Plan and coordinate special arrangements with schools, colleges, divisions and external customers. Direct parking personnel and special parking events personnel in the operations of each event. Orchestrates staff schedules, task assignments, and equipment allocation to ensure that department objectives and goals are met. May serve as manager-on-duty in the absence of others.Develop and maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables long-term planning and effective event management for WSU's special parking events and transportation services. Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to the successful execution of each parking event and/or transportation function. Responsible for inspection and maintenance of transportation inventory.Provide post-event analysis, budget recaps, and participant feedback; incorporate results into future plans. Develop event reports and distribute to administration, event coordinators, participants, and others as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Urban Planning, or related field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience Minimum 2 Years' Experience in Parking and/or Transportation Services with large institution. Prefer Special Events Parking Management, Fleet Vehicle Management, University Transportation Management Experience or Urban Transportation Planning Experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust obtain security clearance. Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to obtain valid Michigan License within 90 days of employment.
