Role purpose:
Leads Keolis’ development efforts on assigned projects and/or within assigned territories -- identifying appropriate leads, making the case for consideration in the BD pipeline and converting targeted opportunities into winning bids as a key enabler of KNA’s growth strategy.
Skills Demonstrated ability to create and grow strong relationships with transit agency staff and local government leaders Ability to “talk shop” with transit agency leaders and staff (i.e. strong understanding of the nuts and bolts of a transit operation) Excellent verbal and written skills Public speaking Coaching others in preparation for public speaking engagements Ability to conduct independent research and identify winning themes to maximize proposal scores Commitment to detailed note taking and timely documentation of development activities Leadership Empathy Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PPT
Knowledge and Experience: Public transit industry experience in a high-level role A strong network of transit industry professionals with the energy and drive to expand that network further Experience with public transit O&M bids Direct experience with public transit operations Strong understanding of public transit agency procurement standards CRM experience a plus
Key Accountabilities Pre-RFP Contributes to pipeline development by Identifying and recommending growth targets Build strong levels of familiarity with stakeholders at target operations Promotes value-added capabilities Management of external consultants supporting development efforts Plays an active role at industry meetings/events (such as APTA, state transit organizations, etc.) Works closely with Marketing team to ensure the Keolis Brand is known in the target market Acquires and completely documents market intelligence regarding upcoming opportunities Ensures key management candidates for upcoming bids, recruited by HR, will maximize presentation scores in management interviews
RFP Response Serves as the point person for communication w/ the target client’s procurement team Advises proposal writers, pricing analysts, and subject matter experts producing the bid Confirms inclusion of agreed-upon bid strategies and winning themes in proposals, in collaboration with bid production teams
Post RFP Accountable for Keolis’ delivery of a compelling interview presentation Serves as point person during public meetings Ongoing relationship management at new and/or existing operations, in support of the Regional Operations VP and local GM
