Job Description:
This position exists to promote transportation career pathways to current and prospective students to ensure that a quality talent pipeline exists at Minnesota State colleges, through direct outreach or managing relationships with partners such as colleges, high schools, industry, and the Minnesota State Transportation Center of Excellence (TCOE) Executive Board.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Lead career outreach and exploration activities through communication with education and industry partners to promote transportation pathways and careers in Minnesota.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry and education partners to create excellence through outreach in transportation careers and pathways.
Identify and create new and/or innovative opportunities and channels of outreach, student engagement, and career exploration.
The Minnesota State TCOE is located at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN, but other office locations may be considered
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited institution in education, transportation, or a related degree and at least 3 years of work experience in education or the transportation industry.
Or, an Associate's degree from a two-year accredited institution in education, transportation, or a related degree and at least 5 years of work experience in education or the transportation industry.
Ability to interact and relate well with all segments of the education community, external stakeholders, and perspective and current students.
Ability to coordinate and motivate collaboration among colleges, high schools, businesses, and the community.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to diverse audiences and motivate others through written and oral presentations utilizing excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to direct and coordinate multiple related assignments and tasks; record of completing assignments.
Knowledge of Minnesota State statutes, regulations, forms, policies, and procedures sufficient to ensure compliance in all actions of the consortium.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Computer skills and a general working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule involving travel throughout the State of Minnesota.
Ability and willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-graduate coursework or Master's degree from an accredited institution related to management, education, transportation, or closely related.
8 or more years of work experience in education or the transportation industry
Previous experience working with youth (under age 18).
Knowledge and understanding of the interrelationships of Minnesota State college and MDE secondary transportation programs.
Founded in 1970 Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) is a public, two-year technical college in Rosemount, Minnesota. DCTC offers about 150 programs that range from an AA, to a degree in pluming. DCTC will allows students the possibility to go right into work force after graduation. Students who graduate from DCTC gave a 90% chance of getting a job after graduation.
