Services For Adults (SFA) is a part of the Adult Services Division of the Mecklenburg County Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services. The division is responsible for four main program areas: Adult Social Work Services, Community Social Work, the Senior Citizens Nutrition Program, and the Mecklenburg Transportation System (MTS).
Position Specific Information
Position in the Services for Adults Division of the Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services.
Identify, apply for, and manage grants to help further the mission of the department.
Position located at the Valerie C. Woodard Center at 3205 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Hybrid work model subject to change based on business need, 3 days in office onsite and 2 days remote.
Position Summary
Directs the research, preparation, submission, and tracking of appropriate grant applications and participates in subsequent follow-up activities to ensure that funding requirements are met. This position may also be responsible for researching and securing external funding sources in support of the mission, goals, and objectives of the assigned County department or division.
Essential Functions
Research and prepare grants in coordination and collaboration with managers
Evaluate, and submit grant applications; monitor the status of the application; coordinate and collaborate with grantor for the resolution of identified issues; coordinate and collaborate with a specific manager regarding their grant application and status; successfully follow through with all aspects of the grant process
Collaborate and coordinate with department or division leadership/staff and/or community partners with the exploration, implementation, and evaluation of projects that support the mission/vision/objectives of the assigned County department or division
Respond to requests from State, County, local municipality government, external partners, or community stakeholders
Responsible for managing grant projects as directed by supervisor, manager, or department Director
Analyze financial and other data, including, but not limited to, revenue, expenditure, and grants
Develop solutions or alternative practices
Recommend new systems, procedures, or organizational changes
Make recommendations to management through presentations or written reports
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of two years of related experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Science, or a related field.
· Experience managing North Carolina Department of Transportation Integrated Mobility Division and Federal Transit Administration grants with an emphasis on, but not limited to Urbanized Area Formula Funds (5307).
· Experience working with grants related to aging and adult services, including but not limited to community social work, senior nutrition, and transportation services.
