The VA Saint Louis Health Care System is recruiting for Health Aids (Transporters). The primary purpose of this position is to support to Veterans at the Health Care System VISN and facility levels. The position is responsible for delivering an array of health care services throughout the Medical Center, and its various locations. The Health Aid is responsible for performing selected patient/resident related transports to different areas and other duties as necessary. The Health Aid is responsible for performing selected patient/resident related transports to different areas such as, x-rays, CT Scan, MRI, Prosthetics, Sonography and other related areas.To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below: GS-03 grade level: Six (6) months of general experience; experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successful completion of one (1) year of study that includes study in the medical, health, or related fields. OR, Combination: Applicants may qualify based on a combination of education and experience. The total qualifying experience is taken as a percentage of the 6 months' experience required; qualifying education is taken as a percentage of the 1 year education substitution.
