Join us at RTC Washoe County! This cutting-edge organization is seeking a Planning Director that is forward thinking and looking to challenge the status quo. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an industry leader in mass transit and improve the Reno/Sparks region transportation network and services.
The Planning Director will direct and manage the planning activities required by RTC’s Metropolitan Planning Organization designation. The Director will also oversee all operations of the Planning department including planning projects and contract management, community outreach related to planning efforts, and grant application development. The Director will also oversee development of the federally required Regional Transportation Plan, which is currently being updated.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree. A Master’s Degree in urban and regional planning, civil engineering, or related field is preferred. At least ten years of planning experience, of which at least seven years are in the public sector and at least five years are supervisory experience and/or senior management experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. AICP or PTP certificates preferred.
