What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Pay: $21.50 an hour (or more based on experience)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:30pm to 8:30pm (overtime per business needs)
Responsibilities
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
Building relationships with our commercial carrier partners
Ensure carriers follow guidelines in day-to-day operations based on Cardinal Health's policies and procedures
Freight monitoring and KPI reporting
Expediting urgent shipping requests
Handle customer complaints, investigate delivery issues and report outcome to internal Customer Service Group
Provide guidance or technical assistance to organizational projects
Willingness to train and be certified to drive material handling equipment as requires by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in shipping, preferred
High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of warehouse management systems
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift
Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, adaptable to change and able to reprioritize on short-notice
