The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources and Risk Manager. This pivotal role involves overseeing all HR functions and managing the organization's risk management initiatives to ensure a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with MTD's strategic goals.
Manage recruitment, hiring, training, and development processes to attract and retain top talent.
Oversee employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Develop and manage risk management programs, including safety training, workers' compensation, and loss prevention strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in human resources management and risk management.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Governing Body
The MTD Board is made up of seven directors. Two are appointed by the County Board of Supervisors, two are appointed by the Santa Barbara City Council, one is appointed by the Goleta City Council, and one is appointed by the Car...pinteria City Council. The seventh member, also known as the at-large director, is appointed by the other six members of the board.
