Position Summary:
The Director of Parking and Transportation Services reports to the Assistant Vice President of Auxiliary Services and is responsible for all elements of leadership, vision and strategies for the University of Idaho's Moscow campus parking and transportation system. The position is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and management for the administration of the Department of Parking and Transportation, including directing and monitoring daily activities for a team of up to 10-14 permanent employees and 3-5 temporary or part-time employees.
The director works as a member of the team while frequently performing tasks independently. The director is expected to exchange ideas, share information, explain policies and procedures, and review ideas, information and opinions with others in order to devise procedures and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions. The director is expected to set priorities and assess and respond to customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field; four additional years of business operations experience (6 total) may substitute for bachelors degree.
- Experience in Parking and Transportation or related field.
- Two years experience in business operations management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for parking (e.g., AIMS, T2 Systems).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and sensitivity to effectively interact with a highly diverse campus community.
- Leadership abilities as evidenced by the successful implementation of programs and processes, the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships, and strong employee supervision and development skills;
- Skills in budget development and management, and administering complex public business practices.
- Ability to develop, recommend and implement short and long-range strategic plans.
- Analytical, problem solving and data-driven process evaluation skills.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and emotional maturity.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Required Licensures, Certifications or other
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving University vehicles.
- Ability to be on-call for emergencies and/or campus events during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.
