The role you'll contribute:
The Patient Transportation Lead has responsibility for quality of services and operational management of the transportation team. The Team Lead collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient-focused and healing environment. The Team Lead demonstrates leadership skills in assuring that safe, quality care is carried out for specific population(s). The Lead is responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team. The Lead will use the Capacity Management application to electronically track, manage, and prioritize transportation workflow.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages schedule for transportation department.
Facilitates training of new transporters.
Uses excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
Keeps direct supervisor abreast of successes and need for assistance.
Establish a process for rounding on associates.
Manage associates concerns in a timely manner and assure actions have been taken.
Contribute to the growth of others by mentoring and providing constructive feedback.
Initiate activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment.
Utilize work time effectively and adhere to established deadlines.
Communicates necessary information to care team members and follows HIPAA guidelines.
Monitors staff use of iPod to receive and accept transport requests from Capacity Management.
Assure staff use of appropriate assistive devices for patient movement.
Assists team to transport patients to/from the designated area of the hospital.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Education or equivalent
One to two years of position-related experience
Basic Cardiac Life Support - BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Customer service experience or previous lead experience
