Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops schedules, run-cuts, blocking, and rosters, and creates driver and vehicle assignments.
Develops, analyzes, proofs, and distributes scheduling-related statistics and reports.
Works closely with planning staff in scheduling and designing bus routes and bus travel times.
Produces, maintains, and exports schedule data to internal and external interfaces such as the Intelligent Bus System (IBS) and the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS).
Reviews bus route information in the field.
Meets with garage staff on scheduling issues; and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Must have a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning, transportation planning, mathematics, statistics, computer logic, engineering, accounting, geographic information systems, or related field (a master's degree in one of the previously mentioned fields is preferred).
Must have at least one year of experience in transit scheduling or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position will be considered).
Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Hastus scheduling software, IBS, GTFS, ArcGIS/Map, Tableau, and Ridecheck is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; excellent math, logic, and computer skills; outstanding time and project management skills.
Must have the ability to produce accurate work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Most work is performed in a professional office environment. However, work is occasionally conducted at Pace garages, in the field, and at other facilities/locations within the Pace service area. This position requires the ability to lift and carry 10 pounds.
Office location for this position is 550 West Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, IL. The position reports to the Scheduling Supervisor.

Pace is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of thirteen directors. Each serves a four-year term and, with the exception of the Commissioner of the Mayor?s Office for People with Disabilities, must be a Mayor or Village President from his or her respective region, or a former Mayor or Village President residing in his or her respective region.
