Description Basic Function Under moderate supervision, performs all types of body and paint repairs on light rail vehicles. Examples of Duties Repairs body and paint damage to the interior and exterior of the light rail vehicles Removes vehicle parts such as headlights to perform repairs on the damaged areas Uses Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding equipment to repair damage Mixes paints, matches colors, and paints vehicle surfaces with high volume low pressure (HVLP) spray guns Responds to emergency body repair and maintenance requirements of rail vehicles Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of Metro are carried out Selection Procedure Applicants who best meet job-related qualifications will be invited to participate in the examination process that may consist of any combination of written, performance, or oral appraisal to further evaluate job-related experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
